Insight Quick Start: Treatment Plans and Calendar Events
Use this guide for a quick link for getting started in Insight included after Caseload is added.
To access your Insight™ profile and resources within Insight™, follow these steps:
- Go to elumainsight.com
- Sign in using the “Sign in the Google” button
- If you have not completed the Google Single Sign On (SSO), you will need to set this up before signing into Insight.
Google Chrome browser is the recommended browser for an optimal experience with Insight™.
Find students- Go to your dashboard. Click the Users Icon.
- Type your student’s name into the search bar. Your student will populate below.
- Click on the student’s name to access their profile.
General treatment information, services, and goals are required to schedule events for your students. Begin by entering the General treatment plan information.
- Go to a student’s profile.
- Click on the Treatment Plans Tab.
- Update the General information for your student.
- Treatment Plan Type: Choose the Individual Education Program for students currently in special education with an IEP, students evaluated for special education, students on a 504, or students receiving services through RTII.
- Treatment Category: Select the category most closely related to the student’s eligibility category.
- Treatment Start Date: The date that you will begin working with your student.
- Click Save.
Student services are entered as listed on the student’s IEP. You will enter services for sessions and evaluations to schedule students on your calendar.
- Go to a student’s Treatment Plan Tab.
- Click “Add Service.”
- In the add services window, enter your student’s IEP information:
- Discipline
- Begin and end dates from the student’s current IEP.
- Frequency and duration, as indicated on the student’s current IEP.
- Turn on “Can Group” if the student will be seen in a group.
- Services and Service Type.
- Click Save.
Once student services are added, you will add the student’s goals as listed on the IEP.
Adding and Editing Student Goals
- Click the arrow beside the service line.
- Select “add goal.”
- Enter your student’s goals as listed on their IEP.
- You can choose to measure the goal by trials or percentages.
- Trials are checkboxes that allow you to mark the exact number of trials attempted and the exact number of trials the student correctly produced.
- Percentages offer a sliding bar that allows you to enter the percentage of accuracy the student achieved during their session.
- Enter the goal from the student’s IEP into the Description box.
- Click Save.
- Go to your Insight™ Dashboard.
- Click “New Event.”
- A new window will open, and you can add all pertinent information for this event, including date and time, attendees (students), type of event, and duration. You can schedule events to repeat daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Click Save.
After a scheduled Insight™ event occurs, you will need to document attendance, the duration of the event, and your SOAP note.
- Go to your Insight™ Calendar.
- Click on the session you wish to document.
- The documentation window will open, and you will enter the student’s attendance. If the student is absent, you will enter a note with details of the student’s absence in the notes section. If the student is present, you will enter the SOAP note and duration of the session and document the student's goals by selecting the “document with goals” toggle.
- If the session is canceled due to a no-school day per the school calendar, school cancellation, or provider cancellation, you will enter the attendance type from the drop-down menu with a note regarding the session in the notes box.
- Click Save.
Evaluations and assessments-
Treatment Plans and Service Lines are required to schedule any evaluation events.
- Create a treatment plan and evaluation service line for your student.
- Schedule an evaluation event by selecting “New Event” and choosing Evaluation.
- Once the evaluation window opens, enter the date, time, student name, type of evaluation, and assessment used.
- Enter the due date and duration.
- Click Save.
Materials for assessments available on Insight™ will be accessible once you have scheduled and saved the evaluation event. See Guide here
- Open the Evaluation Event from your Insight™ Calendar.
- Click on either the Record Form or Materials. These will open in a new window.
Once the evaluation has been completed, you will document the evaluation event. (This will be the same procedure noted above when documenting a session.)
Run reportsInsight™ allows you to generate various reports for your students. Events reports and Progress reports are most frequently used.
Events reports
Events reports will show all events scheduled, documented, and undocumented for a student, any SOAP notes you have entered, and goal progress.
- From your dashboard, click the Reports icon on the left taskbar.
- Choose Events.
- Enter the required information, including attendees and any filters you wish to use.
- Select CSV to download this report.
Progress reports
Progress reports can also be generated through Insight to show student progress for a selected time period.
- From your dashboard, click the Reports icon on the left taskbar.
- Choose Progress.
- Enter the required information. (You can choose to include or not include caseload management notes in your reports.)
- A report will be generated that shows your student’s goals. Enter a summary in the summary section.
- Click Save.
