How to Find your State Student Identifiers (SSIDs)

eLuma is not able to add a student to your Insight caseload without SSIDs. Sending student caseloads without SSIDs will delay the caseload addition

1. What is an SSID?

A State Student Identifier (SSID) is a unique, permanent tracking number assigned to a student by the state department of education.

Note: This is not the same as a local school lunch number or student ID. If a student transfers to a different state, they are assigned a new SSID.

2. Where to Find the SSID

Because every school district uses different software systems, the exact "click path" to find an SSID varies. If you don't know where to look, check these four common areas:

The Front Page of the IEP: Most Special Education (SPED) software displays the SSID on the student’s demographic page or in the footer of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) document.
Your School Point of Contact: Reach out to your designated district contact (such as the SPED Director). They can guide you through the system and ensure you have the proper access permissions.
Your On-Site Facilitator: Your building facilitator is often familiar with local systems and can point you to the right person or software tab.
The School Registrar or Enrollment Office: The staff in charge of student registration know the ins and outs of the student information system and can quickly look up state IDs.

3. How to Submit the Information.

Once the school year starts and you receive new or newly qualified students, gather their information and take the following steps:

  1. Create an email containing the student's First Name, Last Name, and SSID number.
  2. Send the email to support@elumatherapy.com.
  3. CC the CSP (CustomerSuccess Partner) assigned to your school.
  4. You will receive a notification from eLuma support as soon as the students are successfully added to your caseload.
